Help the needy on Passover
The Growing Pressure Before Pesach
As Pesach quickly approaches, most homes are focused on the essentials - cleaning for chametz, stocking up on food, preparing for the Seder, and making sure everything is in place for the chag. For needy families, these basics alone are overwhelming, leaving little room for anything beyond necessity.
A Difficult Year for Many Families
The war in Israel has only deepened any strain families are feeling. The continual uncertainty and financial pressure are making it harder than ever for families to just keep up with everyday needs, let alone prepare for Yom Tov.
But Pesach is meant to be so much more than a period of "just getting by". It’s a time of simcha, celebration, freedom and feeling uplifted.
A Thoughtful Solution: Dignified Support
Recognizing this, B’ezri continues to expand its efforts in meaningful and thoughtful ways. In addition to vital holiday support including
Maos Chitim for over 5,400 families, this year
115 gift cards, each worth
800 NIS each, are being distributed to women in great need in Yerushalayim, Tzfat, Kiryat Sefer, and Tel Tzion. The cards are for use at major clothing chains, giving recipients the ability to choose exactly what they would like to wear for Yom Tov -
the opportunity to treat themselves - something they rarely do.
The Real Impact
The impact is far reaching. Recipients value the beautiful items they are able to purchase but even more so, the
feeling it gives them. Aviva H. already used her card and quickly contacted B'ezri to express how much it meant to her:
"I would like to thank you for the beautiful dress I received for Pesach! I had decided not to buy anything for myself this year because everything is so expensive, especially after all my children's needs - and then I received the gift card you sent. I went to the link and found stunning clothes! I feel so special and happy knowing that I have something so beautiful to wear on Seder night.
In addition, we received another card for food, and we quickly went to the store and bought so many groceries for our large family. B’ezri, with your help, you played a significant part in making our Pesach kasher v'sameach-and you have done this in the most dignified way.
Thank you very much from the bottom of my heart, and may Hakadosh Baruch Hu grant you and your donors strength and Siyata D'shmaya to continue helping the people of Israel. We are so appreciative!"
Feedback like this reflects what meaningful chesed truly is: not only meeting practical needs, but doing so with careful thought, dignity,
and attention to personal needs.
This is the essence of B’ezri - support that uplifts, respects, and makes a lasting difference.
