More Than a "Just" a Birthday Gift

A larger-than-usual birthday shipment is on its way

There’s something especially nice about receiving a gift when you're not necessarily expecting it.
Every year, the Keren Almanos sends a birthday gift to every almana on her birthday-that's upwards of 800 women! The gift itself is always something beautiful and practical, and a great deal of thought goes on behind the scenes, choosing items that will feel truly special to the women receiving it.
Over the years, birthday gifts have included a beautiful Shabbos tablecloth and a unique Shabbos lamp.



This past year, each almana received a stylish cake tray including a box of colorful macarons.



The response has been overwhelming - not only for the gift itself, but to the fact that someone remembered her birthday.

As always, you are the ones who know how to do the right thing at the right time!!
I received a birthday gift from you!! I was so touched!! It feels so good to know that someone remembers you and sends you something... There are no words!! Really!!
It’s something to admire about your organization all over again, every time - the thoughtfulness-the way you think of everything and everyone.

I would like to thank you from the bottom of my heart for remembering my birthday and for the moving and special gift you sent me. It truly touched my heart. One of the things I love most is honoring the Shabbat table, and therefore the gift you sent—the cake holder which honors and beautifies the Shabbat table—was especially meaningful to me. It is not something to be taken for granted to receive such thoughtful attention, which clearly came from genuine consideration of what would make me happy.

I just received the birthday gift you sent me with tremendous emotion and tears.It is a gesture that truly warms the heart and gives me the comforting feeling that I am remembered. Every year, my late husband would make sure to mark my birthday, and this is the second birthday that he is no longer with me. My children and I still haven’t fully come to terms with the new reality that has been forced upon us, and the struggle is very difficult. And yet, there are good people along the way, and Hashem sends us little kisses...

Right now, in the whirlwind of the High Holidays, a large batch of birthday gifts is being sent out to cover the next few weeks of birthdays. By getting them on their way now, B’ezri can make sure they reach their destinations without being delayed by the chagim.

It’s a small example of something B’ezri strives to do across all our programs: think ahead, anticipate potential challenges, and make sure that assistance and support reach the people who need it in the most thoughtful and effective way possible.

With the start of a new year comes a new gift which is being planned right now. Stay tuned to see what’s next!
