American Friends of Yad Eliezer now partners with B'ezri
With Purim just around the corner, B'ezri is working tirelessly to bring Simchat Purim via substantial relief to thousands of families across Israel. This year, 4,750 families in 50 locations will receive much-needed financial assistance to help them mark the holiday with all their necessities including the most invaluable one - dignity. Additionally, 820 almanos will each receive support to ease their Purim expenses, too, ensuring their children can experience the happiness and celebration that is unique to this time of year.
For B'ezri recipients, this support isn't just financial—it's transformative.
Meirav Z., an almana from Holon, knows this firsthand. Left to raise seven young children after her husband's long battle with osteosarcoma, she has faced unimaginable challenges. But last Purim, the stipend she received allowed her to buy a beautiful kallah (bride) costume for one of her daughters, who had been nearly catatonic and rarely spoke.
Meirav describes the impact of that purchase: "When my daughter arrived in school with this beautiful bride costume the whole school was in awe! And she actually made some friends."
B'ezri's Keren Almanos coordinator, Sara, adds, "This year Meirav's girls, Avigayil and Yael, who are 7 and 8 years old, begged her to take them to buy costumes early. They came back with old fashioned doll costumes and are so very excited. The boys will be pirates. Meirav's son Eliya isn't doing very well in school and has reading difficulties, but the thought of his costume is keeping him cheerful. These costumes are a way for Meirav to bolster her children's self-esteem and give them a happy Purim. While she usually needs the B'ezri monthly stipend for very basic staples, the Purim support for the holiday will have long lasting effects for her family."
The experience is meaningful for Meirav. "I want to say thank you very much, B'ezri, for everything. This is all in your zechut, you enable me to give my children joy, hope and light in their eyes. Only HaKadosh Baruch Hu can repay you for the goodness in your hearts."
For families like Meirav’s and so many others, B'ezri’s support is more than just financial aid—it’s a source of optimism, confidence, and normalcy.
And thanks to donor generosity, we can replicate those in thousands of homes this year.
