$3 million in High Holiday Food Help

We're there for thousands of families

The High Holiday season is a time for festive meals, family gatherings, and the simcha of celebrating together. For families already struggling financially, though, the time leading up to Rosh Hashanah, Yom Kippur, and Sukkot can be especially difficult. The cost of multiple holiday meals - including meat, chicken, fish, produce, beverages, and other essentials - are overwhelming on top of regular household expenses.

The holidays also follow the added costs of summer, including food, childcare, and activities, just as the new school year brings tuition, school supplies, uniforms, and other expenses. For many families, the financial strain of the war has made things even harder, with lost income and reduced work opportunities adding to their burden.

The challenge of Yom Tov is also about more than covering expenses. Parents want their children to enjoy the excitement and meaning of Yom Tov and to sit down to a festive meal without worry or embarrassment. But with food prices in Israel among the highest in the OECD, preparing for the holidays at a dignified level grows increasingly challenging.

Thankfully through our High Holiday Campaigns, B'ezri is alleviating the stress and making the holidays possible by providing families with the assistance they need to prepare for Yom Tov and celebrate with peace of mind.

This year, we will distribute assistance to 2,800 struggling IDF soldiers and their families, 3,000 needy families including 500 divorced mothers, and 800 widows and their 6,000+ children.
