The Coats Are Coming
Our Winter Warmth shipment will arrive in the coming weeks
Monday, October 05, 2026
While the weather in Israel is only beginning to cool, preparations for the winter season are already well underway at B’ezri.
Over 23,000 coats are expected to arrive in the coming weeks. As in previous years, our thick, high-quality coats were ordered over six months ago - well ahead of the winter season - allowing B’ezri to secure the best items at a lower cost and prepare for distribution in communities throughout Israel.
Once the shipment arrives, coats in a wide range of sizes, colors and styles will be distributed to children and young women from families who would otherwise not be able to afford one. The variety is intentional, so recipients can choose a coat that they like and that suits them, rather than receiving the same one everyone else has. That way, the coats feel like any other new winter purchase, not something that identifies families as recipients of tzedaka.
In struggling households, a warm coat is a practical need as the temperatures drop but it is also an important boost to self esteem. For children in particular, having a good-quality coat of their own means being able to go to school and spend time outdoors comfortably, without feeling different from their peers.
The costs of this critical campaign are substantial. Donate today to help us ensure children and young women across Israel can have a warm, quality coat when winter hits.
