The Keren Almanos is an extremely large program, one of our biggest. Through it, we distribute monthly stipends to widows with children living at home, enabling them to provide for their families with dignity. Each widow’s situation is carefully assessed to determine the amount of money she needs to complete her monthly budget. Funds are transferred directly into her bank account, sparing her any embarrassment or inconvenience.
In addition, the Keren Almanos assists widows with one-time expenses such as urgent dental care, bar mitzvahs & weddings for their children, medical treatments, emergencies and holidays, which are markedly expensive. Single parent homes are especially struggling from residual effects of the pandemic and we are trying our best to keep up with the need.
OUR GOAL is to reach out to all struggling widows in Israel who are taking care of their children. We want them to know that they can rely on our help, which is given with respect and sensitivity.
Currently there are 830 women in this Keren and we support them and their 5600+ children with vital funds, about $650 per almana, per month! This aid makes a significant impact, stabilizing their homes stable and helping them live with self-respect.
Every donation makes a real difference and with your assistance, we can extend our reach to support additional families who are struggling.
The Widows and Orphans Fund supports hundreds of families monthly with dignity, by coordinating a range of services for those who have experienced untimely loss.
If there's no money in the home to pay for food, there's no money to buy school supplies. We give kids-in-need the opportunity to buy new supplies, so they can start their school year off with dignity-just like everyone else.
The Keren Yehudit Fund was established to help orphan brides in need, by supplying them with brand new basic appliances, so they can set up their homes just like other new brides.
Help needy families with food purchases in honor of the High Holidays. Together we can bring them a sense of celebration, making it a happier new year.
With impoverished kids stuck at home, leaving parents unable to go to work, the loss of income makes an already difficult situation even worse. No money to buy food or pay the electric bill makes summer unbearable. We can bring relief.
Since 1989, we have been privileged to help create happy holiday memories for some 8,000 poor families by discretely distributing vouchers for chicken, meat, and other foodstuffs as well as clothing and shoes.
