Amid uncertainty and rising challenges, your $2.85 M in support brought relief, dignity, and simchas Yom Tov to thousands of families across Israel

Thank you.
That simple phrase has flooded our office since Pesach, echoing in messages and emails from families whose Yom Tov was simply transformed by your support!

This year’s Pesach campaign took place against a backdrop none of us could ignore - sirens, bomb shelters, and the constant disruption of daily life during the war with Iran. And yet, in the midst of it all, something powerful happened: together, we showed up for one another.

Thanks to your generosity and the dedication of our staff and volunteer gabbei tzedaka, our Pesach distributed went flawlessly despite the chaos with $2.85 million in Maos Chittim distributed to thousands of households across Israel. This included 2,100 struggling families, among them 600 divorced mothers doing everything they can to keep their homes stable. We supported 800 widows in our Keren Almanos with special Pesach stipends in addition to their regular assistance, and 2,580 IDF soldiers (both active and reserves) balancing the demands of service and financial hardship.

AFYE/B’ezri also provided 115 gift cards of 800 NIS each to women in need in Yerushalayim, Tzfat, Kiryat Sefer, and Tel Tzion - giving them something often out of reach: the ability to choose something new to wear for Yom Tov.

One recipient shared:
“I was sure I couldn’t get new clothes this year…expenses were severe, with all the food for Pesach, clothes for the children, having to replace a dryer that broke…these all made a difficult situation at home even worse, and impossible for entertaining the idea of buying new clothes. When we were notified about the gift card, my simcha was indescribable! I went that same day and bought a beautiful dress for Yom Tov and one for during the week…I was thrilled and honestly, I felt pretty - it was true simchat chag.”

Another message we received, from an almana, captured the emotional impact just as deeply:
“You won’t believe how I felt when I saw your grant in my bank account this morning - it came in at exactly the right time. It is real, practical help that guarantees I can purchase food for my family’s Yom Tov. But even more than that, it brought me such peace of mind and a feeling of care-that I was remembered.”

And from an IDF officer:
“I need to thank you from the bottom of my heart for the financial assistance you provided to our soldiers. One of them, a devoted father of five children, is working hard to support his family, and because his wife is unable to work, their financial situation is severe and they are in significant debt. Thanks to the vouchers you provided, they were able to celebrate Pesach with dignity, as בני חורין.”

This kind of impact was felt in thousands of homes across Israel - bringing relief, dignity, and tremendous joy during an especially challenging time. 

Whether it was a parent able to breathe a little easier at the supermarket checkout, a single mother feeling less alone, a soldier reminded that he is valued, or a woman experiencing the simcha of Yom Tov in a new dress, your help transformed their holiday.

As we look ahead to Shavuos and the summer months - often one of the most challenging periods for families in need - we remain committed to continuing providing support that enriches people's lives.
