American Friends of Yad Eliezer now partners with B'ezri
Everyone loves to get something new for Yom Tov. Sitting down to the Pesach seders or sitting at shul, visiting with friends and family..it all feels different - more special and elevated- when you're wearing something new.
Buying pretty jewelry or new clothes for chag for the women of the home is part of the beautiful mitzvah of simchat Yom Tov. To say the least, though, it’s not easy to do for families in need, especially in the lead up to Pesach when there are so many, many holiday expenses. “New dress” goes to the bottom of the shopping list when there’s a week's worth of matza, wine and food to be bought and not much money to buy it all with.
But as one of the most astute Israeli charities, once again B’ezri is thinking out of the (gift) box.
In addition to all the maos chittim we are distributing, over 400 women from struggling homes are receiving a gift card (valid at multiple popular clothing store chains) worth 700 NIS, in time for Pesach.
After worrying about taking care of all their families’ needs for the chag, recipients can treat themselves to something (or some things) special that’s just for them-new clothes that will really help enhance their Yom Tov and help them feel dignified.
Thinking creatively, practically, effectively and out of the box. That's B'ezri.
