Hello Donors,

With Pesach on our doorstep and preparations at their height, needy families throughout Israel have been contacting us at American Friends of Yad Eliezer to express their gratitude for the help they’ve received in time for Yom Tov.

Thankfully, our Pesach campaigns have been incredible. Millions of dollars raised means thousands of struggling families-really struggling families- can get ready for the chag with a lighter heart. Imagine their relief: one minute they’re anxiously trying to figure out which Pesach items they’ll just have to give up over the next seven days, and the next…they don’t have to. They can buy their families the necessities that will make their Pesach a real holiday. We’ve helped all kinds of families who would otherwise have no way to do that including those of 675 Grushot, 850 Almanot, 3,000 needy IDF soldiers and others. And because our tzedaka success is thanks to your tzedaka, you should be able to share in some of the thank yous we’ve received.

Ahava M. from Beitar, a grusha, writes:
"I would like to thank you for the wonderful chesed you’ve done for us.
Thanks to you we will be able to set our table in honor of Pesach and we will be able to have meat and fish! I am a grusha with five children, B”H. I am battling illness and trying to cope with treatments. I can’t work and try to make ends meet with a government stipend but it’s extremely difficult. Your support is making all the difference this Yom Tov. Thank you!"

Sara B. is an almana who lives with her children in Jerusalem:
"It is Erev Pesach. I know that in other homes the preparations for chag are exciting. But as an almana, alone with my children, I sit, wondering how I will be able to bring simcha to my children this Yom Tov. How I can fill in the huge void with the little I have. We don’t want to be the ones who don’t have the necessities for Pesach, so different from other families. But then, a phone call comes and wonderful news is relayed: there is help available for us! My worries are replaced with simcha, knowing that now our Pesach can be exciting too. May you be blessed with Birkat Shamayim!"

Yosef A., a struggling IDF soldier, says:
"The vouchers you gave me for Pesach are the reason I can afford foods for the chag. It’s hard to describe the feeling of filling up my agala (shopping cart) with what I need-the matza, some chicken, what I need for the Seder, and approaching the kupa (cashier) like everyone else in the store. I don’t know how I could have done this without your help."

Nechama S. runs her Beit Shemesh home with four children and a husband fighting mental illness:
"With prices having gone up it’s been so hard for us, each month harder than the last. Everything is so much money together (wine, matzot, Kosher for Pesach food). It makes me so sad that we can’t afford these-my husband hasn’t worked in months and the struggle in our home is severe. The money you are providing us with for Yom Tov is truly a blessing-it is helping me enormously. G-d bless you! Thank you from the bottom of my heart."

The impact you're making is life changing for thousands of families like these!
May you and yours be blessed with a healthy, wonderful Pesach Kasher V'Sameach.
