Help us remove difficult choices this winter.

Winter's in the air and needy families are nervous. The inside of a typical Israeli apartment is frigid during the winter. Leaks in the home are common, with moisture and harmful mold rapidly damaging walls and ceilings. Average Israeli families can manage, though, by turning on the heat, using warm blankets and having repairs made when necessary.

For needy families it's an entirely different story. They can't afford the cost of electricity for heat. Paying for quality home repairs is not in the budget. Neither are quality blankets. So countless families find alternatives to get them through the night, like sleeping under layers of towels to try & keep warm.

And outside? A good winter coat is a huge expense for a poor family, especially one that has multiple children. There are children from needy households who stay home from school on very wintry days due to lack of a good coat.

Parents of these families are constantly faced with impossible choices: keeping the heat on for a few hours or buying their children a proper coat or blanket, or giving up on either, in order to buy enough groceries. The war's effect on Israeli citizens- driving prices skyward, causing income/ job losses and displacement, is making winter even more challenging for the needy.

Driven to alleviate their anxiety and suffering through our Winter Warmth Campaign, as one of the most effective Jewish charity organizations, we began preparing months ago, ordering high quality coats & blankets at discounted costs so we can bring relief to parents and children in time for the winter cold and rain.

Due to unprecedented need this year we'll be allocating 9,116 girls' coats, 8,400 for boys (at a cost of $22 each) and 7,500 for young women and mothers ($27 each). Our distribution also includes 10,000 thick quilts ($15). These items may seem simple, but they're life altering and bring unbelievable happiness to those so desperately in need.
