SARIT'S PROJECT

Weddings Without Joy

Making weddings is expensive for everybody. But what about the Jewish couples who cannot afford a wedding celebration at all? What ought to be the happiest occasion of their lives becomes marked in disappointment and anxiety over escalating debts. How can the impoverished afford even a modest celebration, when “modest” in wedding terms includes hall rental costs, gown rental costs, meal costs, flower and decoration costs, photography costs, and so many other expenses? Poverty steals beautiful moments. Laughter is turned to tears.

Yad Eliezer wants to enable every Jewish bride and groom in Israel to celebrate their wedding with joy.
Yad Eliezer’s popular Gitty Perkowski Adopt-a-Wedding Program allows Jewish couples around the world to share their happy occasionwith a poor couple in Israel. Choose a date from the Yad Eliezer Wedding Calendar and sponsor a wedding in Israel on the very same night as your own! Dance at your own wedding with the joy of knowing that, thanks to you, a poor couple in Israel is also dancing.

Sarit's Project L'Ilui Nishmas Dov A"H

My brother, Dov Matityahu Klugerman a"h, passed away on June 8, 2006 at the age of 14, as a result of a tragic automobile accident.

This year, to commemorate his sixth yahrtzeit, I chose to find a project that's also related to where I am in my life. I am raising funds to sponsor a wedding for a needy couple through Yad Eliezer's Adopt-A-Wedding program. The wedding will take place, God willing, on the same day as my wedding, on August 2, 2012. Although Dov a”h will not be able to physically attend my wedding, this project will allow me to involve him in my special day.

Please consider contributing to this worthy cause in memory of my brother. Any size donation is very much appreciated.

Thank you,

Sarit Klugerman
