One Message. One Family. One Immediate Impact.

Chesed in Real Time

Thursday, July 09, 2026

A medical emergency or eviction threat. A devastating house fire or utility disconnection. A Bar Mitzvah scheduled in 24 hours and the bar mitzvah boy still has no tefillin. Every week, B'ezri receives urgent requests from families facing difficult moments - CIRT (Chesed in Real Time) was created to transform those moments into opportunities for immediate community action.

Chesed in Real Time is a dedicated WhatsApp community that connects supporters with carefully vetted urgent cases. Each week, members receive an opportunity to respond to a family facing a pressing need, creating a more immediate and personal way to make an impact.

As powerful as it is, CIRT, launched in November 2025, does more than raise funds. It builds a stronger connection between donors, B'ezri, and the families we all work together to help by fostering trust, engagement, and a shared sense of responsibility. Rather than simply receiving updates, members become part of a community that comes together to provide meaningful support during times of crisis.

The response has been remarkable. In just a short time, the group has grown to more than 700 members, generated over $135,000 in donations, and introduced more than 300 new donors to B'ezri.
Chesed in Real Time has responded to over 30 urgent cases, providing timely assistance to families facing some of their most difficult moments. Each case presents real people, an urgent challenge, and an opportunity for the group's members to step forward.

Among the many families helped through CIRT:

  • A mother battling cancer received support for urgent dental treatment, allowing her to address a critical health need during an already difficult time.
  • Three bar mitzvah boys received help obtaining tefillin - including a boy raised by a giyoret, a boy on the autism spectrum, and a boy whose father is battling illness.
  • A bride and groom, both in wheelchairs, received assistance to make their wedding hall accessible and adapted for their needs.
  • A single mother of five, seeking to rebuild her life after an abusive marriage, received help with debt repayment so she could move forward free from financial burdens.
As the community has expanded, so has its impact. What began as a platform for urgent weekly cases has also become a powerful way to rally support for seasonal campaigns, helping provide critical assistance to families before Yom Tov and during other times of heightened need.
One message each week results in tremendous relief for families who are suffering.

There are so many Whatsapp groups out there. Want to be part of one that is making a real difference?
Join CIRT and be there for a family during a moment of crisis - one week, one story, one act of chesed at a time.
