Gratitude from an IDF Commander: Pesach Support for Soldiers in the Field

Friday, April 10, 2026I serve as a commander in an IDF operational unit, and I wanted to pause for a moment from the intense daily race we are constantly in and say thank you.
Ahead of chag, we received shopping vouchers for the soldiers - and this is much more than just technical assistance.
Especially during this difficult period we are going through, when soldiers are in the field day and night, far from home and family, every gesture like this feels like a true embrace.
I have soldiers from different backgrounds, some from families who struggle to make ends meet, and out of their small military salaries they even send money home to help cover basic expenses.
These shopping vouchers allow them to approach the holiday with a sense of calm, easing their concern that their families will also be able to celebrate, and giving them the knowledge that someone is thinking about them beyond the front lines.
I see in their eyes how meaningful this is, and it gives them a sense of belonging and appreciation, that they are part of something much larger in history.
