Your help is not merely technical or financial assistance—it is an enormous emotional strengthening.

To the honorable staff and donors of B'ezri,
I am writing to you in tears and with trembling eyes, with the wish to express, even slightly, the depth of my appreciation and gratitude that I feel toward you for the tremendous act you performed for me and for my family.
Thank G-d, I am a mother of a family with children. One of our sons was born with a heart defect, and after years of treatments and examinations, he was required to undergo a complex heart surgery. The challenges at home are not simple at all. My husband is not a provider, and our financial situation is extremely difficult.
I am aware that my words are written in a somewhat confused manner. It is very hard for me to write. The situation we are in is not easy at all.
And then the electricity was cut off. You surely know how difficult such a situation is, but for us it was the straw that broke the camel’s back. After a long period of fears, hardships, and anxieties—also against the backdrop of the wars and the security situation—the fear of having the electricity disconnected was unbearable. And in the end, it happened.
A cold night in Ofakim, a house with small children, without electricity, without heat, without light. There is no need to elaborate on the immense hardship, and on the feeling of humiliation and pain when all the neighbors around have electricity, and only our home is in darkness. It is very hard to explain this to the children, and perhaps even harder not to explain.
And precisely then—you appeared. Specifically during the days of light of Hanukkah. And you illuminated our home. Not only with the physical light of the electricity that was restored, but with a much deeper light: the knowledge that there is someone who cares. That someone hears about a family they do not know at all, have never seen, and may never see—and yet their heart is moved, and they rise up and pay the entire debt, and in one moment restore light, warmth, and hope.
I feel that I truly have no words to thank you. I may be repeating myself, but my heart is full to overflowing. Your help is not merely technical or financial assistance—it is an enormous emotional strengthening. It gives me the strength to continue bearing the burden, to cope with the situation at home and with the great difficulty in which I find myself almost alone.
A small example: our son has been studying for nearly a year and a half in a Talmud Torah, and my husband has not paid his tuition even once. Judge for yourselves the discomfort and anguish… and this is only one example.
I wanted to share a little of what is in my heart, so that you will know how much you were faithful messengers—truly good angels—at the most difficult moments of our lives.
May you be blessed from Heaven. May it be God’s will that you always merit to be among those who give and not among those who need, that you always have abundance, health, and joy, and that you never know sorrow or lack. May your merit stand for you and for all the people of Israel for relief, blessing, and success.
